Hiya… I’m Kelli, an illustrator, fashion designer turned artist, and the person behind Angel Art Club.

Well, come on in and see what all the craic's about! Whether you're here for a bespoke portrait, wedding inspiration or just having a little nosy, you're very welcome.

Creativity has always been part of who I am, although I didn't always know it would lead me here. Before Angel Art Club, I spent over twenty years working as a fashion designer, first in London and then during an amazing ten-year adventure in Sydney, Australia. Designing for a living was fast-paced, exciting and hugely creative, but my love of art actually started much earlier.

One of my favourite childhood memories is being off school with chicken pox at the age of nine, armed with a brand new set of felt tip pens while the rain battered against the windows outside. Growing up in Northern Ireland, it honestly felt like it rained every day, so drawing became my happy place.

Life eventually brought me to the beautiful Suffolk countryside after my son was born. The timing happened to coincide with Covid, and, like many people, I found myself slowing down and reconnecting with my paints. I started creating keepsakes for friends and family, and it reminded me just how much joy there is in making something that people genuinely want to keep.

Before long, my paintings became a little more whimsical. I found myself turning people into playful illustrated characters, bought a rather fandangled printer and started creating personalised cards to accompany my artwork. These days, I create bespoke character illustrations of people and families, alongside personalised cards and prints, with a small Etsy shop quietly ticking away in the background. I also run a kids’ art club, which I love teaching… children’s creativity is wonderfully unpredictable in the best way.

Weddings have become another passion of mine. I absolutely love creating cohesive, hand-painted wedding stationery, from save the dates and invitations to table plans, place names, menus and all those beautiful little finishing touches that make a wedding feel completely personal.

More recently, I've ventured into live event illustration, and it's quickly become one of my favourite parts of the business. Capturing guests in just a few brushstrokes and seeing the smiles when they receive their painting is what it's all about!

Whether I'm painting with traditional watercolours or creating digitally in Procreate, I bounce between the two depending on what the piece needs. Every piece starts with an idea, a paintbrush (or stylus), and the hope that it makes someone smile.

That’s what Angel Art Club is all about… art that stays human. In a world where AI can create almost anything in seconds, I think there’s still something really important about the hand of a real person and a little bit of imperfection!
